“Every Night is New Year’s Eve”

You may have celebrated New Year’s Eve on December 31st, but did you know you could celebrate it again tonight? It’s the end of one year, and the beginning of another. It’s the culmination of an entire year of ups and downs, struggles and triumphs, and above all, hope and love.

It’s the time to look both forward and backward with a single glance, with a vision to see both missed opportunities and opportunities yet to be taken.

People look at New Year’s Eve as the chance to go to bed one night and wake up with a fresh new opportunity to begin again. I think every day should be like that!

Same concept, just a different part of the calendar.

It should be a time to reflect on the past year, come to grips with the successes and failures in our lives and relationships, and resolve to improve. People make big New Year’s resolutions from losing weight to quitting a bad habit and maybe tonight, on this New Year’s Eve, it’s your opportunity to do the same.

This New Year’s Eve, resolve to “lose the weight” of unnecessary expectations and trim down your bad Karma intake. There are a lot of things that can weigh you down, and perhaps this is the year to shed your emotional weight.

Just like shedding excess weight will make a person feel better both physically and psychologically, shedding the emotional baggage that weighs you down will have the same result, and every ounce counts!

Next, resolve to “quit the bad habits” of focusing on insignificant things and focus on the big picture. Most of the things we worry about are small.

Finally, resolve to “clean out” the clutter of mistakes, regrets, past differences, and failures, and begin again with new emotional energies. Nothing clutters up life and relationships quite like the residuals of old arguments and pains.

Much like a computer needs to be periodically cleaned out, so should we. You notice how much better the computer runs after the memory gets cleaned and refreshed? I think the same goes for us.

So tonight, make your new resolution list, and wake up tomorrow to a brand new year!
